Shun Henry
Raised by a single mother, Shun Henry learned independence at a young age. During her teenage years she earned money by babysitting for neighbors within her apartment complex then becoming the Avon “lady” within the same complex.
After high school Shun joined the US Army and quickly realized that she had to become her own boss. During her 21 years of military service, Shun would experience many entrepreneurial endeavors.
Shun realized that a lot of the skills that she had to learn were not taught during primary school or college. She has always felt that had she had mentorship from other business owners and entrepreneurs, she would have been able to help so many more people, sooner. Because of this, I AM Youth Development Center was birthed.
Shun’s mission is to help the next generation of youth get a head start by bridging the gap from classroom and the “real” world. Her goal is to equip the youth of I AM YDC with practical tools that will encourage their creativity and usher in the business owners and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
